Little Green Men

Sitting with half-closed eyed in a steaming hot bubbling spa;
Half awake with thoughts tumbling over each other.
Mixing the colors of daydreams to create colors anew;
Seeing at last the differences that be between me and you.
And as I sat, hot water rushing round my body, sore,
A vision opened to me; I saw great ages gone before.
The hotter the water, the clearer the sight, the brighter flew my dreams.
Threads of fantasy and threads of reality bound to create new seams.
I saw other races of beings walking newly into sunlight.
Beings red once underground in eternal darkness out of sight-
Knowledge hidden to emerge when bidden by One Alone,
Who, connecting with burning thoughts, called for help; a silent moan.
Beings blue who live in water, rushing about the earth,
Changed to mist and then rained down, laughing in silent mirth.
Simple staple for the life of every living thing,
Giving hope to One Alone, healing to the crippled wing.
Beings green that hide in trees, gliding through the grass;
Feeding earth to bring plant life, and, helping, make it last,
Bringing health to One Alone with blood of leaf made free.
Only goodness can be done when given by a tree.
Beings yellow from the sun awaking life by love;
Rays of joy, breath of life and health brought from above,
Carrying One Alone when no inner strength be found,
Pushing back the brink of death when fallen on the ground.
Beings purple of the wild freedom far away-
Tropical color, energy abounding as fairies fey
Purple nebula bursting forth from hidden paths of One Alone
Sending him upon an endless, fantasmic ride a-flown...

  1. One of the most wonderfully bittersweet experiences I have had.
