Blue and red
And black and white,
Life empowered
By that great sight.
Green and purple,
Orange and yellow,
Days go by,
So joyful or mellow.
Silver and gold
Make mesmerized
The glow within
A poet’s eyes.
Yet colors go on,
Most are not human-seen,
But by eyes
Which are piercing, unclouded, and keen.
The hound whose eyes
Could see the breeze,
Tears to the eyes,
The blind man sees.
The young man gazed
On colors of friends,
Eyes seeing their energy,
As though through a lens.
Eyes that saw gray shielding
The yellow of joy,
Joy that was hidden
Deep inside a small boy.
Which is the greatest,
Which holds the key,
To the heart of all hearts
Inside you and me?
Let forests be dry,
Let good fields go bare,
But colors are forever;
Let everyone share.
And love will flow ‘round
The earth once more,
As waves roll over
The seashells on shore.
